Originally part of the Bowood Estate and set within the rolling hills of Wiltshire, Talos Art Gallery and grounds is the ideal venue to hire for Private Events, Classes or Workshops, Photoshoots and Filming.
Home to many different sized natural brick gallery rooms and surrounded by stunning outside space full of mature planting, Talos also offers a rare opportunity to include some of the artwork and sculptures as part of your backdrop — one-of-a-kind talking points unique to this venue.
The venue also includes on site utilities, wifi, car parking and toilet facilities.

Venue for private hire
Available to hire all year round our carefully restored gallery buildings are surrounded by mature botanical sculpture gardens and make the ideal venue for your event or as a photoshoot or filming location. Set amongst the rolling hills of the Wiltshire countryside and originally the diary farm for Bowood House, here at Talos Art Gallery we are able to offer something original and special for private hire. With buildings dating back 300 years, now lovingly restored, this is where modern art meets authentic restoration meets english country side to create a unique and contemporary pastoral space.
Around the dates of our Talos Summer Exhibition there may also be the opportunity to include a Private Tour as part of your package, making your event all the more unique.
THE BUILDINGS
Layout: Entrance foyer and two main gallery spaces.
Natural light comes in through gallery windows, and the floor to ceiling doors can be opened out into the garden areas.
Originally part of the Bowood House Estate, the restoration of the old diary barns involved sensitive painstaking removal of layers of concrete, brick and dung to reveal the buildings original features. Having stripped back to reveal cobbled floors, original elm trusses and antique joinery many of these original features have been retained. Additional struts, doors and windows were then carved in situ from locally sourced materials.
The results are a stunning natural space that acts as both a backdrop and flowing layout.
THE GARDENS
Layout: The Entrance Garden is a large open lawn at the front of the gallery. Our Courtyard Garden accessed by the gallery or a sweeping entrance from the road is full of mature planting, lawns and is home to many sculptures.
Our Courtyard Garden has been laid out and planted to combine nature and art as a whole experience, with each showing off the other to its best effect. This makes for a unique backdrop and calming space for outdoor entertaining, breakout space, yoga classes, filming, photoshoots and so much more.
The Entrance Garden to the gallery is a open lawn providing the option to pitch a marquee or drive in portable catering.
AND THE ART
Each summer we open the doors of Talos Art Gallery to exhibits a wide range of contemporary sculptures and paintings from renown artists from around the world. Many of these pieces stay with us throughout the year and can be in situ for your venue hire. During our Talos Summer Exhibition there is the opportunity to include a Private Tour as part of your package, making your event all the more unique.
Please note that the artwork does change every year as we invite new artists in to exhibit. We can not guarantee that the artwork in the images on this website or that you see on a pre visit will be the same as the artwork at an event.
