Talos Summer Exhibition 2025
be inspired, be moved, be challenged
The Talos Summer Exhibition is a popular annual event, renowned for the quality and diversity of the artwork on display, the unpretentious beauty of its gallery buildings and the intimate seclusion of its breath-taking gardens.

Our 2025 Summer Exhibition includes over a hundred works by both local and visiting artists, bringing together the work of five prominent Wiltshire sculptors and introducing emerging artists Tom Humphreys, Evelyn Burt and Amanda Hillier.

Special features for 2025 are a collection of new bronzes by Rebecca Hawkins raising awareness of global slavery and human trafficking and mysterious installations by Indian sculptor Ravi Modi confronting his own partial sightedness.

We also welcome back popular past exhibitors Elaine Peto, Paul Harvey, Claire Leach and Nettie Baskcomb Brown with new collections of work for 2025.

New for 2025 Talos Foundry comes to the gallery
The gallery’s close association with the Talos Art Foundry allows visitors to see drawings, maquettes and models for sculpture projects in progress, as well as a selection of quality finished bronze pieces to buy and commission.

This year, our foundry display focuses on Amy Goodman’s recent commission to create two life size figures of the Rolling Stones for Dartford town centre, and shows preliminary drawings and photos of the sculptures being cast as well as real foundry moulds and plaster copies of Mick Jagger and Keith Richard in action.

Bronzes from the Talos Art Foundry on display include recent work by Tanya Parkes, Evelyn Burt, Ken Smith and Australian sculptor Lucy McEachern.

FEATURED ARTIST
Tom Humphreys
Devizes artist Tom Humphreys delivering his set of all-new botanical studies to the Talos Gallery for our summer exhibition 2025. This will be the first time that Tom has ever exhibited his super-detailed pencil drawings thanks to the encouragement of his wife Mandy who called the gallery on his behalf and persuaded him to take part.
Tom’s work joins the drawings of two other great artists - Claire Leach and Sarah Cosby to provide a treat for devotees of the drawn line.

THE GLIMMER TWINS
To celebrate our connection with Talos Art Foundry we are showcasing one of the UK's rising artists, Amy Goodman, who has been casting with us for some years now and has commissions for life-size figures stretching well in to 2026.
To bring the casting process to life for our visitors we will be taking the plaster casts from two of Amy's life-size figures of Rolling Stones Mick Jagger and Keith Richards "The Glimmers Twins'. Accompanied by the figures in wax, the moulds and Amy's original concept drawings, additional archive photos will be on display of them being cast in bronze at the Foundry and will walk the visitor through the many steps in the bronze casting process.

The bronze statues were unveiled in Aug 2023 and are fast becoming a well loved feature of Dartford Town centre — Mick and Keith met there and the rest, as they say, is rock and roll history!

SENSES OF SPRING
Nettie Baskcomb Brown
Senses of Spring by Nettie Baskcomb Brown — a spring botanical braille alphabet in bas relief, inclusive artwork that everyone can enjoy. This collection of work was inspired by a family member who lost their sight. Bas relief is the perfect way to capture every facet of a natural material and including the braille tag turns touch into knowledge.
This is one of the first exhibition pieces where we are encouraging everyone to touch the art!
