Updated for visiting our Summer Exhibition in 2026
Being in a remote setting brings many benefits, the rolling countryside setting being but one. However we do recognise that coming here isn't on everyone's doorstep and would like to recommend some suggestions to make your visit part of a grand day out.
SPECIAL EVENT

Special treat for vintage car lovers. The Bristol Austin 7 Club are coming on Saturday 27th June and will be displaying their cars in front of our farm house from 10.30am until 12.30.

Included in your 2026 Season Ticket or entry ticket for 27th July, Talos Art Gallery Summer 2026.
ENJOY TALOS POP UP CAFE
This year the Talos Gallery teahouse will be brought to you by local caterer and textile artist ‘Homemade by Mils & Mum’. Serving up homemade scones, cakes, savoury dishes and salads alongside hot and cold drinks and of course ice cream! Enjoy whilst being surrounded by the lush of our gallery gardens.

THE WALK
CHERHILL WHITE HORSE

You can see the Cherhill White Horse from the gallery, as it is only a short drive away. It is well worth a walk on a clear day, not only to see this iconic landmark cut in 1780, but also to take in the breathtaking views across the surrounding Wiltshire hills.
The Cherhill White Horse is owned by the National Trust and is open to the public.
If you would like to walk up to the Cherhill White Horse, head towards the A4, where a convenient lay-by on the westbound carriageway offers excellent views of the hillside figure. From here, a footpath leads up onto Cherhill Down and towards the horse.
See below the The Black Horse pub is very nearby!
THE PUBS

WESTBROOK www.westbrookbromham.co.uk
This pub is 3 miles from Talos Gallery and does a wonderful lunch (roast at weekends) and has a huge garden. Always friendly and easy to find from the gallery. Serving Hawkstone and currently offering 2 meals for £20 Weds-Friday. Check for latest details and recommend booking.

THE BLACK HORSE at Cherhill www.theblackhorsecherhill.wordpress.com (4.5 miles from Talos Gallery) also does great pub lunches and a fantastic view of the Cherhill White Horse and Lansdowne Monument — both also visible from our gallery. Despite being situated directly on the main A4, there are fantastic walks up to the White Horse, the Monument and Oldbury Iron Age Hillfort, with spectacular views over West Wiltshire.
THE ATTRACTIONS
BOWOOD HOUSE After you have enjoyed the gallery and revive on food then why not round off the day with a visit to the historic Bowood House (Talos Gallery was originally the estate diary!) and ‘Capability’ Brown landscaped Gardens only 5 minutes drive away.
If you are looking for more local walks or any other local recommendations please do ask Richard and he will be happy to share.
