EXCLUSIVE AND EXCITING CLOSING EVENT TO OUR SUMMER EXHIBITION.Â
One of the highlights of our 2024 Summer Exhibition has been the collection of new paintings by artist Cindy Powell exploring the fragility of the natural world. Cindy has just released details of an even bigger installation of paintings, which asks the harrowing question ‘is it already too late to save our vulnerable wildlife?’Â
Cindy’s commitment to wildlife conservation is a theme running through all her work, and never more so than in this new piece ‘Humanity Reflected’. This series of seven paintings is Cindy’s chilling re-interpretation of the Genesis creation story. Each scene is painted on mirror and visitors will be invited to participate in fulfilling its prophecy. Â
Cindy writes,
“As we enter the Anthropocene, the age of the humans, with the Doomsday clock ticking loudly in our ears, ninety seconds to midnight, can we dare to hope? Can we make a difference at the eleventh hour? I believe that we can. Don't miss out on seeing an art installation with a difference. I promise to end Talos's summer exhibition with a bang!’Â
THE EVENT
‘Humanity Reflected’ was on display for the final week (18 - 21 July) of the Talos Summer Exhibition, with its final dénouement on Sunday 21st. WATCH the video above to see how it went down.
